MISSONI LANZA
Founder + Owner | CPI | Movement Specialist

Missoni is a comprehensively Certified Pilates Instructor and Movement Specialist with over a decade of experience in the Pilates and movement industry. She is sought-out for her sharp eye, depth of knowledge on the human body, and transformative results for her clientele. Her clients have affectionately gave her the nick name of ‘mad scientist’ for her innovative and effective approaches to movement. By incorporating a solid foundation, Missoni helps guide her clients to establish a deeper connection to their body, restore structural balance, improve their strength and performance, and move with more grace and ease.

Movement is like Jazz…

A true musician always starts with mastering the melody in every single key before they begin to explore into the world of improv. I’m a firm believer that mastering the basics are the key components to building a solid foundation. When you are able to master the basics, then you are truly prepared to explore more advanced choreography. My approach is about learning the art of moving well rather than just moving for movement’s sake. As someone who has been injured from accidents and poor training, I value the importance and the integrity of smart training. We are gifted with one life and one body, it is our responsibility to nurture our body as it carries us through our journey. My job as a Pilates Instructor and Movement Specialist is to guide you to discover your body and the strength you have within while also providing you with the tools and knowledge that you can carry with you for a lifetime.

- Missoni Lanza

Since receiving her Pilates Certification in 2011, Missoni Lanza has worked alongside Physical Therapists and Spine Specialists, provided fitness and wellness education in schools throughout the Coachella Valley, provided Pilates classes internationally, mentored new and seasoned instructors and therapists, and most recently, assisting Madeline Black, an international leader in movement and exercise education in training other seasoned Movement Professionals and Therapists in the Madeline Black Method.

Missoni has worked with a vast clientele including: elite professional athletes, seniors, cancer survivors, pre and post natal, pre and post operation and rehab, opera singers and vocalists, PTSD survivors, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s disease, MS, lyme disease, spinal cord injuries, and more.

Missoni’s passion for the healing arts and holistic movement stemmed from her own journey from recovering from the impact of a head-on collision when she was eighteen. This inspired her to receive CECs with industry leaders such as Madeline Black, Tom McCook, Rael Isacowitz, Portia Page, Jean Claude-West, Dr. Stuart McGill and more. Missoni then immersed herself in MET techniques, various fascial release techniques, structural integration, gait assessment and patterning, movement therapy, and more. When working with a client, each session is thoughtfully designed and individualized to each person and their body to emphasize healthy live and help achieve their goals.

Bottom line: Missoni’s mission is to arm you with the tools to connect you to your body’s natural intelligence to expand awareness to all aspects of your life. She is passionate about helping you develop a sustainable practice to obtain optimal health and well-being. When she is not teaching, you can find Missoni teaching, you can find her working on her latest project, The Online Practice and The Podcast, singing jazz, and going on adventures with her Havanese, Ellington (yes, like the Duke.)
